A 40' double-skin fuel tank is a large fuel storage tank with a double-walled and High Cube (1’ extra height) design, used for the safe containment of fuel or other hazardous liquids. This tank is constructed with two walls for added protection. The inner tank holds the fuel, while the outer tank serves as a secondary containment barrier in case of a leak or spill. This helps prevent environmental contamination.
These Double skin tanks are made from materials that offer durability and resistance to corrosion. They are designed to meet environmental and safety regulations, preventing fuel from leaking into the surroundings, which is particularly important when the tank is used in areas where spill risks are high.
A 40′ tank could hold 14,529 gallons of fuel or 55,000L with a fuel pump system flow rate of 5-50L / minute. The tank has a flameproof enclosure to contain explosions. It is intrinsically safe to prevent sparks and features encapsulation for additional safety.
It is suitable for use in Group II areas with gas Group IIA (common industrial gases) and a maximum surface temperature of 200°C (392°F) such as chemical processing plants, oil and gas facilities, fuel storage and handling facilities, petrochemical refineries, on-explosive mining applications, and marine & offshore installations.
